Morgan’s Message is dedicated to normalizing conversations about mental health and expanding peer-to-peer support networks for student-athletes facing depression, anxiety, and performance pressures. Across 159 local campuses, Morgan’s Message student-athlete ambassadors deploy evidence-based resources and stage community events to break down barriers to care. Funding from Champions for Children supports critical programs including the Mental Matchup podcast, sharing athletes’ unique mental health stories and normalizing mental health conversations in athletics, and the Morgan’s Message Education Program (MMEP), providing no-cost support, resources and guidance to our ambassadors through an upgraded Ambassador Resource Hub.

“We lost Morgan because of the stigma that surrounds mental health, and if one kid out there feels the same way and actually opens up and gets some help because of our work, it validates what we’re doing.”

— Dona Rodgers, Mother of Morgan Rodgers and Co-Founder of Morgan’s Message

For a young athlete isolated by depression in the DMV, finding a supportive local community can quite literally be the difference between giving up or pushing through to achieve their dreams. Thousands of DMV student-athletes are finding their way to this vibrant, supportive community every year, because Morgan’s Message made it possible.

Your support helps keep that community growing — reaching more campuses, funding free resources, and making sure the next young athlete finds their way to it before a moment of crisis becomes a point of no return.
