The Art and Science of Happiness: Practical tools to help kids—and the adults who care for them—thrive emotionally
Every parent, teacher, and caregiver wants resilient children who feel seen, supported, and confident navigating life. Yet when a child pulls inward, lashes out, or seems anxious or overwhelmed, it’s not always clear how to respond.
On April 20th, Champions for Children is hosting an interactive discussion with an expert panel at Pink Moon in Bethesda that brings together leading clinicians and researchers to explore what truly supports children’s emotional well-being.
Moderated by Lisa Isenman, MS, LCPC, Psychotherapist and Champions for Children board member, the panel features:
Matthew Biel, MD, MSc, Director of the Thrive Center for Children, Families, and Communities, Georgetown University
Kostadin Kushlev, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Happiness Lab, Georgetown University
Anne Kendall, PhD, retired psychologist and respected expert in parenting and child psychology
This conversation will examine how happiness isn’t about avoiding challenges—but about building emotional strength, connection, and skills that help children flourish over time.
